The Waterkloof Dog Park (also called Eridanus Dog Park) is a lovely 1.2km stretch of beautiful lawns with various pools where dogs can run off leash during winter and summer months. There are ponds at the end of it where the dogs can swim! The park is close to the corner of Dorado and Eridanus Street. This Dog Park is a Civic Community Initiative in collaboration with the normal activities of the Tshwane Municipality. A committee has been elected by the community to help manage the Park and liaise with Tshwane Parks. This entails maintenance of facilities, refuse removal, security and generally keeping the Park clean, safe and free of vehicular traffic to ensure a pleasant experience for all users, including dog owners.
The Initiative also entails the staging of events like tree planting and litter removal days, informal dog shows and other fund raising events to finance the activities of the initiative. Kindly use the provided bags to dispose of dog droppings during your walks in the Park. The Initiative would also like to encourage the general collection of litter, even if it is not your own. This will encourage a culture of a litter-free environment, a worthy cause that will meaningfully enhance your enjoyment of the unique natural features of this beautiful Park. Please feel free to participate in this unique Initiative.
The Friends of Eridanus Dog Park initiative was established to raise funds in order to create a sustainable income for our park, thereby enabling us to serve our community by upgrading and maintaining the park.
