Somabula Nature Reserve Hiking Trails. Somabula is a small reserve near Cullinan, that has a network of roads and tracks for hikers and mountain bikers. There is no marked trail, but you can make your own fairly easy route of about eight kilometres that offers great game viewing and a pleasant lunch spot overlooking a dam. Accommodation include camping and chalets, but for a treat book into one of four restored ox wagons at The Outspan.
Somabula Nature Reserve Hiking Trails on 400 hectares of indigenous trees, pristine bush and offers excellent birding. The reserve boasts a wide variety of antelope as well as giraffe, zebra and wildebeest. Smaller animals, interesting insects and reptiles can also be viewed.

Somabula Nature Reserve Hiking Trails Accommodation:
1. Self-Catering Stone & Wooden Chalets:
Situated in secluded treed areas, which accommodate up to 4 people each.
All fully equipped including linen, towels, crockery, braai areas, gas cooking, refrigeration facilities, solar hot water and lighting.
2. Ox Wagons:
“The Outspan” consists of four beautifully restored ox wagons in a laager with a communal catering / lounge area and ablution facilities (hot and cold water).
All linen, bedding, crockery and fridges are provided.
3. Camping:
Shaded camping areas, each having their own braai area and share the open air ablution facilities (hot and cold water).
A maximum of six people allowed per site.
